About Clerkenwell Double Glazing — FENSA Registered Installers

About Clerkenwell

Clerkenwell Double Glazing is a double glazing installer serving homes and businesses in Clerkenwell and the EC1 area. We survey, supply and fit windows, doors, conservatories and roof glazing, and we handle the certification and guarantee paperwork that comes with every job.

Who we are

We have been trading for many years, and most of our work comes from homeowners, landlords and local businesses within a short drive of our base.

That registration lets us self-certify replacement windows and doors under Building Regulations, so you do not need to arrange a separate visit from building control. Once the work is signed off, the scheme issues a certificate in your name. Keep it with your property documents, because a buyer's solicitor will usually ask for it when you sell.

Our installations are covered by a 10-year guarantee. If we stopped trading during that period, the guarantee would still stand. You can check every registration we hold on our accreditations page, where each number links to the scheme's own search tool.

What we fit

We keep our range focused on the products we fit week in, week out:

  • Double glazing windows: casement, sash, tilt and turn and bay windows in uPVC, aluminium and timber-effect finishes, with a choice of colours and glass options.
  • Double glazing doors: front and back doors, French doors, patio sliders and bifolds, all with multi-point locking.
  • Conservatories: new builds, replacement roofs and refurbishments of older structures that run too hot in summer or too cold in winter.
  • Skylights: roof windows and roof lanterns for extensions, loft rooms and flat roofs.
  • Commercial glazing: shopfronts, office windows and entrance doors for local businesses.

For an idea of what drives the cost of each, see our double glazing prices guide.

Where we work

We cover Clerkenwell and the surrounding EC1 postcode district, including Farringdon, Exmouth Market, St John's Square, Hatton Garden and Clerkenwell Green. Because we work locally, our surveyors know the housing stock: the Victorian and Edwardian terraces, the post-war semis and the newer estates each bring their own frame sizes, bay shapes and planning questions. If you are not sure whether we reach your street, check our areas we cover page or give us a call.

How a job runs

Every installation follows the same steps, so you always know what comes next:

  1. Survey. We visit your property, measure each opening, check the condition of the brickwork and existing frames, and talk through styles, colours and glass.
  2. Written quote. You receive an itemised quote in writing. It lists every window or door, the specification and the total price, and it stays valid for the period shown on it.
  3. Manufacture. Once you accept, we order your frames made to the measurements taken at survey. We give you a fitting date when we have a delivery date from the factory.
  4. Fitting. Our fitters remove the old frames, install the new ones, seal and finish them inside and out, and take the waste away with them.
  5. Certification and guarantee. We register the work with FENSA, and you receive your Building Regulations certificate and your guarantee documents by post.

If anything is not right after fitting, contact us and we will come back to put it right. Our FAQ page answers the questions we are asked most often.
