These terms explain how you may use this website and the terms on which Clerkenwell Double Glazing supplies and installs windows, doors and other glazing for consumers in England and Wales. Please read them before you accept a quote. If anything is unclear, contact us and we will explain.

1. Who we are
Our registered address is Exmouth Market, London EC1R 4QE. You can contact us by email at [email protected] or by phone on 020 4634 6779. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Clerkenwell Double Glazing, and "you" means the customer.
2. Quotes
All quotes are given in writing and are valid for 30 days from the date shown on them. A quote is based on the measurements and conditions found at our survey. If we find something on the day of fitting that could not reasonably have been seen at survey, such as rotten lintels or hidden structural damage, we will explain the problem and agree any change in price with you before doing extra work. Prices shown on our website, including on our prices page, are a guide only and are not an offer.
A contract is formed when you accept our written quote, either by signing it or by confirming in writing that you wish to go ahead.
3. Deposits
Any deposit amount is shown on your written quote. We use the deposit to order your products, which are made to measure for your home. The deposit is deducted from the final balance.
4. Your right to cancel
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, if the contract is made away from our business premises (for example in your home) or at a distance (for example by phone, email or online), you have the right to cancel within 14 days from the day the contract is made, without giving a reason.
To cancel, tell us clearly before the 14 days end. You can email [email protected], write to Exmouth Market, London EC1R 4QE, or use the cancellation form we give you with your contract. If you cancel in time, we will refund any money you have paid within 14 days of your cancellation, using the same payment method.
If you ask us in writing to start work or to order your made-to-measure products within the cancellation period:
- you may have to pay for work already carried out up to the time you tell us you are cancelling; and
- once products have been made to your specification, the right to cancel no longer applies to those bespoke goods, and you may have to pay for them.
We will not start manufacture within the cancellation period unless you expressly ask us to.
5. Your statutory rights
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, our services must be carried out with reasonable care and skill, and the goods we supply must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If they are not, you are entitled to have the problem put right, and in some cases to a price reduction or refund. Nothing in these terms limits or affects your statutory rights. For more information, contact Citizens Advice.
6. Installation
- Access: you agree to give us safe and reasonable access on the agreed dates, to clear the area around each opening, and to tell us about anything that could affect the work, such as alarm sensors, asbestos you know of, or parking restrictions.
- Old frames: unless the quote says otherwise, we remove your old windows or doors and take them away for disposal or recycling.
- Making good: we make good the area immediately around each new frame. Unless stated on the quote, this does not include redecoration, new plaster beyond the reveal, or matching existing finishes exactly.
- Building regulations: replacement windows and doors must meet building regulations. We notify the work through FENSA, and you will receive a certificate confirming compliance after completion. Please keep it with your property documents.
- Dates: we will agree installation dates with you and tell you promptly about any delay outside our control, such as supplier hold-ups or severe weather.
You can read more about our accreditations and the products we fit on our windows and doors pages.
7. Payment
The balance is due on completion of the installation unless your written quote sets out different payment stages. We will give you an invoice. If any small item remains outstanding at completion, such as a replacement handle on order, we will agree with you a fair amount to hold back until it is fitted.
8. Guarantee
Our installations come with a 10-year guarantee from the date of completion, covering the products we supply and our workmanship. Full guarantee terms are given to you with your completion paperwork.
The guarantee may not cover, or may be void for:
- damage caused by accident, misuse, neglect or forced entry;
- alterations or repairs carried out by anyone other than us;
- failure to follow the care and maintenance guidance we give you;
- normal wear and tear, or problems caused by structural movement of the building;
- non-payment of the contract price.
The guarantee is in addition to your statutory rights and does not replace them.
9. Complaints and dispute resolution
If you are unhappy with any part of our work, please tell us first by email, phone or post. We will acknowledge your complaint, investigate and aim to resolve it fairly and quickly. If we cannot resolve it, you can refer the matter to the alternative dispute resolution (ADR) scheme named on your contract, or use the complaints process of FENSA. You also keep the right to go to court.
10. Liability
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses, as our services are supplied for domestic use. We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for breach of your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
11. Use of this website
You may use this website for your own information and to contact us. The content, text, photographs and design are owned by us or our licensors and may not be copied for commercial use without our permission. We try to keep the information accurate and up to date, but it is general information and does not form part of any contract. Product details and prices may change. We are not responsible for the content of other websites we link to. You must not misuse the site, for example by trying to gain unauthorised access or introducing viruses.
How we handle personal information you send us is explained in our privacy policy and cookie policy.
12. Other important terms
We may update these terms from time to time; the version that applies to your installation is the one in force when you accepted your quote. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest will still apply. Only you and we have rights under the contract.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales.
